| Catherine was born in Ireland. She was
baptized 15th November 1863, her sponsors were John Neary
and Mary Neary Was this Mary Neary Catherine's sister.?? She came over with her parents in 1864. The family story goes, "she died on the boat or shortly there after." She was the only child that came with her parents. Ship she came over on was Universe. they arrived May 19, 1964. It shows
her listed as infant. D. Mcdermott after searching though many records, for many
years, found the ship in the year 2006 and the head researcher, L. Carey has
confimred this is the record of their journey to America. This was a major find for
the family. This confirmed the story of the baby Catherine coming over on the ship.
She appeared not to die on the ship but shortly afterwards. J. Kinter did the research and found the baptism records. She visited the area in Ireland and found the parents and records for the family, in the 1970's. |
