Their son, William was a Priest , he was ordained on May 8 1954

"Father William Carey was the son of Mary Horsewood Carey and Jack Carey ( Brother of William , Edward, Anna, Mickey and a few others,) It was a large family. He is Joan's first cousin. Jack Carey worked for the railroad and was into entertainment. He put on mistrel shows around the Griardville area. You sent me a copy of one of these minstrels in which Bill (Father) Carey and I were junior end men. "

This is a quote from Bill Halbe who is from Girardville, and Dad own the Halbe News Agency, written to Robert Noone when inquiring about the family.

Jack's nieces Rose and Sal (Sarah ) Carey used to throw baby pigs down there coal shoot. They would sqeek and they would laugh and laugh and Jack would come out and have to correct them. They of course would run away. Later in life Rose used to say. Oh my, I threw pigs down a coal shoot at a priest house. Who would have known he was going to be a priest ?
