They had a juke box in the back room and you could dance.  I use to baby sit Joan Jordan on Wednesday nights while Aunt Anna played bridge.  Uncle Jimmy always worked night work.  He was killed in the mines although he did engineering type of work.  I think a large piece of equipment fell on him. Uncle Jimmy Fullen died in the mines too when they flooded one time.  He was drowned.  After that Aunt Katie and her girls, Anna and Kitty, moved to Philadelphia to be near her son, Jimmy, who worked for Sears"

I never knew Uncle Butch ran a salon.   He and daddy worked for the Hammond Coal Company and were both trapped in the same mine disaster. They were on the fifth level and after the third day we were thinking we would have to get ready for funerals but they found an old abandoned air shaft and by laying their backs against the wall and using their hands and feet clawed their way up to the top.  If one of them had slipped it would have been disaster for everyone.

We were all thrilled of course but that was the third entrapment for my dad and he decided it was time to get out of the industry. I understand that is when Uncle Butch quit too and went down to Philadephia to find employment. Their son Jimmy was there working for Sears so they had a connection

Ann Married and had a beautiful adopted Daugther .  They lived in Philiadelphia with her mother and sister C. Fullen.
