Sarah Carey

Sarah Carey was killed in an auto accident at the tender age of 21. She was known as Sally

Sally Carey was on the quiet side and her older sister Rose was always getting her in trouble. Her and Rose were very close. Her mother died when she was young and her father hired a housekeeper.

Rose and Sally use to borrow there old sisters clothes. It got so bad that they older sisters bought locks to there armoire to keep them out.

Sally and Rose would steal pigs and threw them down the coal shoots. They also loved to dance and would sneak out to go to dance contest. Sarah and Rose use to work in Atlantic City in the summers.

Sally made a mistake and was fired as a waitress. Rose said if she goes I go. They loved the ocean.

Story goes but is not confirmed at this time. Sally was in the back rumble seat, there were four people in the car. They were in a very bad accident. Sarah head was decapitated. Her brother was at the scene of the accident helping out and did not even recognized her.

Her sister Rose never got over her death.

" I also am sending you the page from the Carey bible with the birth and deaths. Grandpop Anthony they have listed wrong for his birthday, and Sarah Carey death is listed as 1/23/21. That too is wrong. Dr. Joe did his records when ever he got around to it, and he relied on his memory for some of the dates. Therefore a lot of the records are incorrect "

I already had the Bible records up on site and did not have the dates listed. This is more confirmation of the dates being wrong.

Since this writing the newspaper article was found by Robert Noone, on Sarah's Death

"Hi Rob: Was able to receive your newspaper account obout the death of Sarah
Carey (Aunt Sally). I noted the date on the paper was April 14, 1925. My
mother was a very good friend of hers and when I was born in August of that
year I was named after her.

She was a beautiful, vibrant girl and the whole family was devastated. Grandpop Carey had told her she couldn't got out that night so that when they came to tell him, he couldn 't believe it. He though she was safely in bed. If you look at the Carey web site that Debbie has set up you can find her picture. She was a beautiful girl.

The Date on the News article was Apr 14 1925. Sarah Carey Accident Reading Eagle Sarah Carey was to have had Auburn hair. She and her sister Rose, whom she was close too, did not look alike.
