Dr. Willam Carey. was known to our family as Uncle Bill. He was a graduate of Temple University. He was a dentist.
He had a practice in Girardville and Shoemakersville, Pa.

Clara Died of pneumia within a weeks time when she was four months pregnant. Dr. Carey took this very hard and closed his business for over a year. The family took a vacation to Atlantic City and he finally came out of his mourning. Margie Connors use to tell stories of how she hated when Uncle Bill the dentist came. The sulfur in the water in Girardville had made the teeth soft. Bill was always pulling her teeth , at the kitchen table. .

Dr Willaim Carey married again to a Grace.M. Miller , on Nov 29, 1943. He was 38 years old when this marriage occured.

"Mickey Carey was a cousin to my dad and played the organ on a radio station in Pottsville and in the Circle bar also in Pottsville.. Dentist may have been a cousin. There was a MD Carey who was killed in the 40's or 50's responding to a call as his car crashed on an icy road."
