William Carey was a Priest , he was ordained on May 8 1954

"Father William Carey was the son of Mary Horsewood Carey and Jack Carey ( Brother of William , Edward, Anna, Mickey and a few others,)  It was a large family. He is Joan's first cousin.  Jack Carey worked for the railroad and was into entertainment.   He put on mistrel shows around the Griardville area.  You sent me a copy of one of these minstrels in which Bill (Father) Carey and I were junior end men.

Father Carey was ordained in Philadephia in 1954.  His first assignment was in Layfayette, Louisiana. Went to vist him there and one day riding a country road he hit a cow.  First time I ever heard a priest curse. He later was a teacher at Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia. He came to Catholic University to further his studies when he became Ill.  He died in February 1967.  "
