| Mrs
Anthony Carey died on Sunday after one week of illness from an attack of pneumonia.
Her death came as a severe blow to her family and friends. She was one of the most highly
esteemed residents of the valley and was the daughter of Michael Deane, of
Lost Creek and resided there for many years. Mrs. Carey was a devoted member of St. Joseph Parish, Girardville, a loving wife and mother and a kind friend. Expression of regret and sympathy are heard on all sides. Besides her husband and father, eleven children,most of tender years, survive her. Mrs. Harry Carey, Mrs James Whalen, of Lost Creek, Mrs. Mame Carey of Balitmore, Miss Kate Deane and John Deane of Lost Creek, sisters and brother of the deceased. The funeral which will doubtless be one of the largest that ever took place at Girardville, will take place tomorrow morning. Requiem High Mass will be said at St.Josepsh church, and interment will be made at Parish Cemetary.
