| Harry F. Carey, 83, of 419 E. Seventh
St., Mount Carmel, died Thursday at Shamokin Area Community Hospital. Born in Lost Creek, Sept. 1, 1918, he was a son of the late Henry and Sarah Dean Carey. He was a 1938 graduate of Shenandoah High School. He was a retired weight master for Hazlebrook Coal Co., and also worked at Arc Wire Corp. He was a member of The Church of Our Lady, Mount Carmel, and its Holy Name Society, a life member of Mount Carmel Knights of Columbus Council 628 and the Clover Hose Fire Company. Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy Strocko, whom he married Aug. 6, 1949; two daughters, Cathy Barrett, Camp Hill, and Carol Carey, at home; a grandson, Patrick Barrett. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Our Church of the Lady, with Monsignor Lawrence Overbaugh officiating. There will be no viewing. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township, Northumberland County. Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, Mount Carmel, is in charge of arrangements.
