Mickey Carey Organist Dies
     Michael J (Mickey) Carey, 419 W. Norwegian Street, whose talent as an organist won him hundreds of admirers in this county, died in Warne Hospital shortly after 8:o'clock this morning.

     Stricken shortly ater he came home from a movie last night, he was removed to the hospital.

     For the past 13 years he had been organist at the Pottsville club and played at many events in this county. He was featured organist at the annual St. David's Day Society dinners in the Necho Allen Hotel.  In his earlier years he also played in New York.

     Born in Girardville, Mr. Carey was a son of the late Anthony and Bridget Carey. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church here.

Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Scully, R. N., one son, James, Pottsville; four sisters: Mrs. Catherine Fullen, Philadelphia; Mrs. Nellie Monaghan and Mrs. Anna Jordan, both of Girardville, and Mrs. Robert Conners, New York; three brothers: Edward, Girardville; Anthony, Philadelphia, and Dr. William Carey, Schuylkill Haven.

     Funeral services will be held Friday morning from the McDonald Funeral Home, Girardville. Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, Girardville. Interment will be made in the parish cemetery, Fountain Springs.
