Ronald J. Couch, 74, of 194 Sunset Road, Muncy, went to be with the Lord on Saturday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born in Ashland, May 5, 1931, he attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and graduated from Tamaqua Jr./Sr. High School. He received a degree in secondary education from Bloomsburg State Teachers College and a master of education degree from Bucknell University, Lewisburg. Ron served two years in the Army as a specialist at a guided missile site in Nahant, Mass. He worked in education his entire career, serving in various capacities at Bald Eagle Nittany Joint Schools, Mill Hall, North Penn Jr./Sr. High School, Blossburg, Southern Tioga School District, the United School District, Indiana County, and the Muncy School District. He and his wife of 45 years, the former Virginia "Ginger" D. Wolfe, were married Aug. 13, 1960. He was a member of Church of the Resurrection, Muncy. Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Charles H. and Mary B. Connors Couch; two brothers, Charles and Edward; two sisters, Elizabeth Sharpe and Kathryn Couch; a stepbrother, Robert Haldeman; a stepsister, Margaret Haldeman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Michele Couch, Webster, N.Y., Brad and Kathryn Couch, York, and Steven and Lisa Couch, Lebanon; two brothers, William, Tamaqua, and Thomas, Herndon, Va.; four grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Jared and Breanna. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in his church, 526 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating will be his pastor, the Very Rev. Glenn E. McCreary. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mill Hall. Friends will be received at Grenoble's Funeral Home, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A prayer vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Church of the Resurrection, 526 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756. |
