Robert James Gownley, 73, of
Susquehanna Township, passed away Monday in Harrisburg Hospital. Born in Lost Creek, July 11, 1933, he was a son of the late James and
Mary Carey Gownley.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was retired from the 76 Truck Stop as the restaurant/gift shop manager.
He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Penbrook.
He was preceded in death by five brothers.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth A. Chapman Gownley; a son, Thomas J. Gownley,
Harrisburg; two daughters, Maureen J. Barisonek and her husband, Michael, Arlington,
Texas, and Bridget Ann Chadbourne and her husband, Charles, Millersburg; a brother, James
Gownley and his wife, Anna Mae, Girardville; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National
Cemetery, Annville. Memorial contributions may be to the charity of your choice in
Roberts memory. Hetrick Funeral Home, Harrisburg, is in charge of arrangements. |
