| Services for Frances M. Green, 87, of
Preston Avenue, Girardville, who died Monday morning in the Long Term Care Center at
Ashland Regional Medical Center, Fountain Springs, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from
Robert M. McDonald Funeral Home, Girardville. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Girardville, by the Rev. Robert Kuzmann. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Fountain Springs. Born in Mahanoy Plane, May 6, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Carey Smith. A lifelong resident of Girardville and Mahanoy Plane, she was a graduate of Gilberton High School. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, John J. Sr., in 1965; a sister, Maj. Anna E. Smith; four brothers, Daniel, Jonas, Joseph and William Smith. Surviving are three daughters, Maryellen Kessel, Medford, N.J.,
Ann Marie Corrigan, Saint Clair, and Kathleen Green, Girardville; two sons, John Jr.,
Bloomsburg, and Thomas, Gordon; three brothers, Michael Smith, Ashland, John Smith,
Hillsgrove, and Robert Smith, Mahanoy Plane; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild;
nieces and nephews. |
