I do believe it does give you a feel of the bands of the time, though.
This is what the caption says
VINTAGE MINSTRALS - The Jack Carey
Minstrels, staged years ago in the Giradville Opera House, is pictured above as the group
posed for a photgraph in the auditorium of Giradville High School sometime in the late
1930's. Identification of the Minstrel members has been left to the public's imagination,
although the person seated (center ,in white is Dr. Willaim Carey, now of Schuykill
Haven , who was interlocutoer. The "blackface" (second from right )
is Lawrence "Glick" Metzinger of Ashland, owner of this photograph. The band
members, in foreground are ( from left ); Jake Leinenback, Bob Luton, Joe Sheva, Leroy
Jones, Michey Carey, Jack Carey and Thomas Woods. The Violinist at right was not
identified.
